GAME RECAP: IceDogs fall 6-1 to Colts

The IceDogs were back in action on the road tonight as they visited the Colts in Barrie to continue their 4-game trip. The ‘Dogs were looking for a strong start to the weekend after having not played for nearly a week. The IceDogs were boosted with the return of captain, Johnny Corneil, who had missed the past four games with an injury.

The ‘Dogs plan for a strong start came true as they capitalized less than 2 minutes into the first period. Bradey Johnson received a great pass from Ondrej Machala on a 2 on 3 to score his first career OHL goal! The Colts came right back the next shift looking to tie the game up, but Stephen Dhillon made a great first save of the night to maintain the score. With 35 seconds remaining in the 1st period, Barrie scored a powerplay goal to tie the game heading into the 2nd period. Early in the 2nd period, the Colts gained a two-goal lead, making the score 3-1. Despite some great opportunities by the ‘Dogs, they couldn’t beat Lazarev in the 2nd period. The Colts added three goals in the third period to take this one 6-1.
