Thomas and Kraws crack U18 Ivan Hlinka rosters

With the annual Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup beginning in under a week, country federations have begun announcing their rosters leading up to the event. The IceDogs will be represented by both participating North American countries in the event beginning next Tuesday!

Hockey Canada announced their roster for the event yesterday evening, and it included a very familiar name to IceDogs fans. Akil Thomas will be travelling back to Czechia and Slovakia this month to represent his country at the U18 level, for the second time this year. After having been named to the Canadian IIHF U18 roster in April as an underage player, Thomas will be returning to the international stage looking to come home with some hardware as the beginning of his NHL Draft year begins!

IceDogs goaltending prospect, and New Jersey native, Ben Kraws was named to the American roster for the U18 tournament. Kraws is one of two 16 year old goalies named to USA Hockey’s roster and is sure to see plenty of action going into his first international event.

The IceDogs congratulate Akil and Ben on the achievement of being named to their respective countries rosters and wish them the best of luck!
