Thomas, Kraws impress at Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup U18

 

The preliminary round is complete at this years’ Ivan Hlinka U18 tournament and Akil Thomas and Ben Kraws have done well to represent their respective countries.

Despite having played one game for Team USA in the tournament, Kraws backstopped his team to a 2-1 win against Switzerland. Kraws’ win eventually ended up as the lone American win in the round robin. Team USA will play Finland tomorrow morning to determine the 5th place finish.

Akil Thomas played his way into a key role for the Canadians. Thomas’ contribution and offensive force have earned him top six minutes consistently as Canada heads into tomorrow’s semi-final against Sweden. Thomas finished the round robin with one goal and two assists.

The Niagara IceDogs would like to wish Akil and Ben the best of luck in their upcoming game(s)!
