Training Camp Report: Day 3

Day three began with two scrimmages to start the day. Although tensions loomed as eventual cuts were to be made following the scrimmages ahead of the annual Black and White game.

Game Nine: Grey vs White:

The first period of game 9 got off to slow start as both teams felt each other out. But the game quickly became physical as Grey started to lay on the pressure. Kyle Langdon scored twice on two shots in the second period to take the lead. White couldn’t solve Grey to get on the board.

Black and White Game:

The highly touted Black and White game gave fans an early look at names fans can be looking forward to watching this upcoming season.

The first period was a goal filled period, that was definitely exciting to watch for the fans in the stands. Ben Jones and Micheal Hill both slipped pucks past Colton Incze, while Drew Hunter got Black on the board scoring on Jukka Schotter through traffic. Akil Thomas dazzled as he tied the game late in the period. Schotter shone late in the period as he stonewalled Bradey Johnson on a partial break.

The second period was a quick, back and forth period that didn’t have any goals scored until later in the period. Akil Thomas picked up his second of the game, and Kyle Langdon got in on the fun within seconds to double team Black’s lead. Ben Jones pulled White within one to end the period.

White pulled even late in the period with Kirill Maksimov finally solving Colton Incze. Danial Singer tied the game with a minute to go in the period. Langdon iced the game in the final seconds.

Black won our annual Black and White Game 6-4
