Ben Jones named OHL’s First Star – January 17th, 2019

1ST STAR: BEN JONES (NIAGARA ICEDOGS):
Niagara IceDogs captain Ben Jones recorded his third hat-trick of the season, leading his club to a 10-0 throttling of the visiting Hamilton Bulldogs on Thursday. Jones’ 24th, 25th and 26th goals of the season gave him his fifth-straight three-point game and ninth consecutive multi-point outing. The Vegas Golden Knights prospect worked alongside Jason Robertson, who had four assists and Akil Thomas who finished with a goal and an assist. Jones sits second on the IceDogs with 66 points (26-40–66) over 42 games. The Toronto Marlboros Minor Midget graduate was a seventh round pick of Vegas in 2017.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS

2ND STAR: JEAN-LUC FOUDY (WINDSOR SPITFIRES):
Rookie standout Jean-Luc Foudy picked up four assists as the Windsor Spitfires blanked visiting Erie 5-0. Foudy’s first career four-assist performance and second four-point outing of the season saw him get in on four of his team’s five goals. Foudy has 32 points (3-29–32) over 39 games this season including points in 10 of his last 11 games. The 16-year-old Scarborough, Ont. native was Windsor’s first round (10th overall) pick in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection from the Toronto Titans Minor Midgets. Foudy represented Team Canada Black at the 2018 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS

3RD STAR: RYAN SUZUKI (BARRIE COLTS):
Barrie Colts sophomore Ryan Suzuki scored a pair of goals in Thursday’s 3-2 win over the visiting London Knights. The 2019 NHL Draft prospect picked up his 13th and 14th goals of the season as the Colts knocked off the third-ranked team in the CHL this week. The 17-year-old from London, Ont. has 43 points (14-29–43) over 40 games and was recently named an alternate captain for Team Orr at the upcoming 2019 Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game set for Wednesday January 23rd in Red Deer, Alta. Suzuki was the first overall pick of the 2017 OHL Priority Selection from the London Jr. Knights Minor Midgets.
