10 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE THIS AFTERNOON’S GAME

1) The ‘Dogs make their second trip to Sudbury this afternoon, and the first visit since October 14th.

2) The season series against the Wolves is tied at 1 win/team. The IceDogs’ win came mid-October when they defeated Sudbury 5-1.

3) Jason Robertson (18 games – 17 goals, 25 assists), Philip Tomasino (9 games – 8 goals, 9 assists), Ben Jones (7 games – 7 goals, 12 assists) and Kirill Maksimov (7 games – 7 goals, 8 assists) are all riding point streak to start the second half of the season.

4) Ben Jones is 2 points away from 200, while Kirill Maksimov is 6 points away.

5) Jason Robertson ranks fifth in the league in goals scored (31) and Ben Jones ranks fifth in the league with 37 assists.

6) The IceDogs have the 12th ranked away powerplay, with 20% efficiency, and the 19th ranked away penalty kill, with an 71% efficiency rating.

7) The Wolves’ home power play ranks 20th with a 11.1% efficiency, while their home penalty kill is ranked 3rd with 86.4% efficiency.

8) This afternoon’s game is expected to be a goalie battle between IceDogs starting goaltender Stephen Dhillon and World Junior Gold Medallist Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. Both goaltenders have 20 wins on the season, thus far.

9) The Wolves are led on the scoresheet by the recently acquired Adam Ruzicka (39 points), David Levin (37 points), and rookie Quinton Byfield (31 points).

10) Against the Wolves thus far, Oliver Castleman has 2 goals and 1 assist.


The IceDogs return home Thursday night for our final game against the Hamilton Bulldogs of the regular season.

Then, on Saturday, the Flint Firebirds come to town for our annual Pink in the Rink game! The ‘Dogs will be wearing specialty pink jerseys that will be auctioned live post-game, will funds raised being donated to the Canadian Cancer Society, Niagara Chapter.
