10 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE TONIGHT’S GAME | UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER GAME

1) The IceDogs close out their final weekend of games before the Holiday break, against the Oshawa Generals. Tonight’s game is the final time these two teams will face each other this regular season.

2) The IceDogs come into this game with points in their past 7 games.

3) Niagara will be missing Kyen Sopa (Switzerland), Daniel Bukac (Czech Republic) and Jason Robertson (United States) for tonight’s game, due to World Junior Hockey Championship selection camps.

4) Captain Ben Jones is currently riding an 8-game point streak, having collected 2 goals and 12 assists (14 points). Ivan Lodnia is on a 6-game point streak, with 5 goals and 4 assists – including 3 goals in his past 2 games.

5) Starting goaltender Stephen Dhillon ranks 6th amongst all goalies in the league that have played at least 20 games this season, with a goals against average of 2.81, and save percentage of .914. Dhillon ranks 5th in the league with 16 wins this season.

6) The IceDogs have the 4th ranked home powerplay, with 26.8% efficiency, and the 17th ranked home penalty kill, with an 76.5% efficiency rating.

8) The IceDogs will be facing a new goalie from Oshawa, with Kyle Keyser away at the American World Junior camp.  This season, Cole Ceci has posted a 3.60 save percentage, and a .880 save percentage. Aidan Hughes, who the Generals recently acquired, has a 4.05 goals against average, and a .874 save percentage

9) The Generals are led on the scoresheet by Serron Noel (19G, 19A) and Anthony Salinitri (18G, 17A).

10) Niagara has three players quickly approaching the 40-point mark, with Kirill Makismov and Akil Thomas being one point shy, with 39, and Ben Jones (38) needing 2 more points to reach to mark.


Tonight’s game is our Ugly Christmas Sweater game! The ‘Dogs will be wearing specialty jerseys. Post-game, the jerseys will be auctioned off by Luke’s Auctions in Section 105, with all proceeds going to Community Care.

There will be two donation drives at Saturday’s game! Community Care will be at all entrances before the game with barrels collecting non-perishable food items. Reliance Home Comfort will be doing their jacket drive on the concourse, where you can bring new or gently used winter jackets to their table.
