IceDogs final game at Hamilton’s FirstOntario Centre

NIAGARA, ON – The IceDogs travelled up to Hamilton on a snowy Friday night for their final matchup of the season versus the Bulldogs and final trip at the FirstOntario Centre with the team moving to Brantford for at least the next three OHL seasons. Chris O’Flaherty scored a pair of goals but it was not enough as the hometown Bulldogs scored twice on six-man advantages.
Starting Goaltenders: Owen Flores (NIAG), Matteo Drobac (HAM)
Bronson Ride would take a point shot that was tipped in by Chris O’Flaherty for his 6th of the season, giving the IceDogs an early lead, a copy of last night. The Bulldogs would respond right back on the next shift to even up the game.
The Bulldogs would take the lead quickly in the middle period and add to the lead midway through the period. The IceDogs would be called for a highly questionable four-minute penalty leading to Nick Lardis continuing to produce since being acquired by the Bulldogs, extending their lead going into the middle break.
Hamilton would be awarded another powerplay in the final period and would capitalize to extend their lead to four. The IceDogs would get on the board with Chris O’Flaherty picking up his second goal of the contest and 7th of the season thanks to the pass from Michael Podolioukh.
Owen Flores made 39 saves in the loss as Niagara will play their third game in three nights tomorrow at home versus the high-powered Ottawa 67’s at the Meridian Centre.
