IceDogs to Turn Arena Into a Sea of Orange in Support of Rankin Cancer Run

Niagara, On – Save the date! On January 26th, 2023, the Meridian Centre will turn into a sea of orange, as the IceDogs take on the visiting Erie Otters. Swapping out pink for orange, the IceDogs have announced today their “Lace Up for Cancer” game in support of the Rankin Cancer Run

“The Rankin Cancer Run is a long standing tradition in Niagara. We’re very excited for this theme night, and even more thrilled that all funds raised from the game, will be distributed to deserving cancer-care organizations across the Niagara Region” stated Game Day Manager, Raiven de Souza.

Originating in 2006, a group of local volunteers started the Rankin Cancer Run as they became aware of the tremendous need for cancer-care funding in the Niagara Region. Since that time, the event has raised over $10,300,000. What makes this organization special, is that all funds raised by the run remain in Niagara!

Rankin Cancer Run Director, Mary Ann, expressed “we are thrilled, truly honoured, and so deeply grateful to the new IceDogs organization for including our Rankin Cancer Run game night in their upcoming season. We tremendously look forward to seeing a full house as we cheer on the Dogs, and raise funds for our own Niagara Cancer needs.”

More details regarding jersey design and the Lace Up For Cancer theme night will be released at a later date.
