Niagara IceDogs sign goaltender, Charlie Burns

ST. CATHARINES, ON – The Niagara IceDogs are proud to announce the signing of drafted goaltender, Charlie Burns. Burns was drafted by the IceDogs 167th overall in the ninth round of the 2022 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection.
The 2006-born goaltender was selected out of the Soo U18 AAA Greyhounds in the Great North U18 League. Last season, the Sault Ste. Marie native only allowed 16 goals in 17 games for a GAA of 1.58 and 2 shutouts between the pipes for the Greyhounds. During the 2022 postseason, the 6’1 netminder saw 220 minutes of ice time and allowed just six goals for a GAA of 1.09.
More recently, Charlie Burns began his rookie year with the Blind River Beavers of the NOJHL. In 20 games played this season, the goaltender has a GAA of 2.00, 0.922 SV% and an impressive 5 shutouts for a 13-3-3 record.
