December 30th, 2020 – Giancarlo Chanton and Switzerland take on Germany
With their future at the 2021 World Junior tournament, Switzerland fought hard with a third-period comeback falling just short. Giancarlo Chanton pinched down by the goal line in the German zone and worked hard along the boards to feed the puck to Ronny Daehler for the second Swiss goal.
Chanton finished the game a +1 with 17:45 in ice time.

Trotz starker Aufholjagd in der Schlussphase: Wir verlieren gegen Deutschland. Die #WorldJuniors sind damit für die Schweiz vorbei. 😕

Giancarlo Chanton definitely looks better (quicker, more poised, more confident) than he did with Niagara last OHL season. If the OHL season gets going, I could see him having a strong year with the IceDogs.

#WJC: More from Giancarlo Chanton the Safety Net as he comes off the bench to collect and then deliver a strike up ice.
Still scoreless in the 2nd but shots are misleading considering the four or five Slovak power plays. Even affair IMO. pic.twitter.com/baxCZkYPKG

#WJC: Still 0-0 with under 8 mins left in regulation between Slovakia and Switzerland, but yet another display of poise under pressure by Giancarlo Chanton. This is an aggressive forecheck, but simple delay and saucer beats it back. Smart kid. pic.twitter.com/nnRxbWB7If
