ST. CATHARINES, ON
General manager, Joey Burke, has announced the IceDogs have acquired right winger Ivan Lodnia from the Erie Otters in exchange for Danial Singer, and a conditional 5th round pick in 2019 (from Kingston).
In three seasons with the Otters, Lodnia has 155 points (62 goals, 93 assists). The creative goal scorer brings strong skating abilities and does not shy away from difficult situations against the opponents’ top defenders.
Lodnia was drafted in the 3rd round (85th overall) by the Minnesota Wild in the 2017 NHL Draft. After his 2017-2018 season ended in Erie, he joined the Iowa Wild for 6 games.
GM Burke raved about Lodnia and what he will be bringing to the team going forward.
“Ivan is a huge addition and immediately bolsters our already talented roster. Not only does he fit our style perfectly, but with this addition, we have sent a message to our team, and to the league, that we want to win. We feel we have the group to do it.
“Any time you add a player of Ivan’s quality, you are going to have to trade quality back out, and I want to thank Danial for everything he has done here in Niagara. We wish him nothing but success in Erie.
“With that said, we could not be more excited as an organization to be adding Ivan today and we look forward to an exciting year ahead.”
The IceDogs are excited to welcome Ivan to the organization!
