With 3:58 seconds remaining in the third period, Niagara IceDogs Captain Akil Thomas scored the golden game winning goal for Canada over the Russians in Sunday’s final.
After setting up Canada’s first goal of the tournament and scoring it’s last, Akil returns to Niagara a 2020 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship Gold Medallist.
