IceDogs Rookie Orientation to take place this Saturday, May 12th

The Niagara IceDogs are holding their annual Rookie Orientation Day this Saturday, May 12th. All 17 of the IceDogs 2018 OHL Priority & U18 Priority Selections have been invited to attend. Rookie Orientation Day gives us a chance to showcase our program to our newest additions in person and is a chance for the prospects to experience the strength of the organization, that has been built during our eleven season tenure in Niagara.

The day will kick off with the prospects and their families meeting at J.J. Kapps, before visiting Governor Simcoe Secondary School for a tour of the players’ future school.  While at the school, the prospects and their families will meet our Academic Advisor, Tim Tope, as well as our Billet Coordinator, Jill Saxton. This will give them an introduction to the strong support system in place for the players.

From there, the tour will head to the Meridian Centre, where the prospects have the opportunity to tour our facilities and get a look at where we call home.

The day will wrap up with a barbeque at J.J. Kapps.

This day will remain private to our prospects and their families and will be closed to the public. Follow along on IceDogs social media on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook for behind the scenes look!

Additionally, fans will get the opportunity to see our newest additions on the ice at training camp in August.

We are so looking forward to meeting each of our 17 recent draft picks, and their families, this weekend! If you see the Niagara IceDogs bus travelling around the Niagara Region on Saturday, make sure to give a honk and help us welcome the IceDogs draft picks!
